Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2025

Winsted respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We never sell your data.

This policy applies to visitors of www.winsted.com.

If you are a California resident, please click here to see our California Notice at Collection, which includes additional disclosures as required by California law.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need.

  • Website interactions: We collect technical details needed to respond to website requests, such as your browser type, operating system, IP address, and which pages you visited. Besides allowing the site to function, this helps us understand site performance and improve user experience.

→ You can opt out of having this information aggregated for analytics by following our Web Privacy Instructions to configure your browser to send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. This website honors GPC signals automatically.

  • Cookies & analytics: We use cookies and similar tools for site functionality, analytics, and to measure ad effectiveness.

→ To opt out of the use of cookies and analytics scripts on this site, follow our Web Privacy Instructions to configure your browser to send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat that as an opt-out, meaning we will not load any cookies, analytics, or advertising scripts on your device.

  • Anti-spam protection: We use CAPTCHA on our website as a means of spam protection. We have a legitimate interest in protecting employees from spam. When you fill in certain forms on our website, the CAPTCHA service evaluates various information (e.g., IP address, how long the visitor has been on the app, mouse movements) to try to detect if the activity is from an automated program instead of a human. The CAPTCHA service then provides Winsted with the spam score results; we do not have access to the evaluated information.

  • Voluntary correspondence: When you fill out a contact form or email us, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and reference it later.

How we use and share information

We use your information to:

  • Operate and improve our website.
  • Respond to your inquiries.
  • Run analytics and measure advertising effectiveness (where permitted).

We share information only:

  • With your consent (e.g., if you sign up for product announcements).
  • As required by law (e.g., in response to a valid subpoena).

We have never received a National Security Letter or Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) order.

We do not sell your information.

Your Rights

At Winsted, we strive to apply the same data rights to all customers, regardless of their location. These include the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
  • Know how your data is used and shared.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive a copy of your data (portability).
  • Not be subject to discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

If you are in California, the EU, or the UK, these rights are also guaranteed under local law. You may also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, email us at privacy@winsted.com.

Data Security and Retention

We use industry-standard security measures (including encryption and multi-factor authentication) to protect website usage logs, analytics reports, and emails. No system is 100% secure, but we work diligently to safeguard all the information we manage.

We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law.

Location of data

Our website and servers are based in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred and stored here.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top and, if appropriate, notify you directly.
